TODD

Shared by Todd's son Kyle...

Todd Pike, or “UT” to some, was as charismatic and fun-loving as they come. Both his energy and electric smile were on display at all times, and the value he placed on creating life-long relationships was palpable. As family and friends, we gave every effort to return his compassion and graciousness. He was dearly loved by so many that knew him for minutes, months, years, and lifetimes. There still rings a loud and echoing sentiment of how professional, amicable, concerned, engaged, witty, coy, intelligent, and loving he was. He was a paragon to what is good in our world. Todd was a man of many words when they counted, and very few when they weren’t needed.

In 2001, Todd founded our annual fundraising event named “Laurel’s Luau” in memory of his family-friend Laurel Richter, who passed after a long battle with cancer. He went on, with the help of many, to partner with Mountain States Tumor Institute to donate thousands of dollars to research and patient advocacy in the name of the event. As the Luau continues on, intact is the spirit and love infused by his genuine compassion and benevolence for all others. Todd passed in early 2014 after his own battle with cancer. We as a foundation are carrying Todd’s legacy as well. His initiative to bring people together, to celebrate life and laugh with loved ones and strangers alike, to donate funds in hopes of helping our family and community members who have been affected by life threatening diseases, and to remember those who we have lost, are all essential missions of our foundation and fundraising event. The “Todd Pike Memorial Bocce Ball Tournament” is an annual competition held at each year’s Luau. We as board members cordially invite you to take part, donate to, or simply watch the festivity! Your support is noticed, appreciated, and combined with so many others just like you.
